A unique opportunity to visit the UK’s biggest and leading wholesale rose supplier PLUS an visit to the World Renowned Rose Garden at Peter Beales Roses

Our friends at Whartons Roses have kindly offered our members the opportunity to visit their excellent facility in Norfolk to see first hand, how they produce roses to supply our garden centres and nurseries with top quality roses.

The event will be held over two days (members may attend either or hopefully both days) on the weekend of 29th and 30th July 2023

The weekend includes;

Day 1 – On Saturday

10:00am       Meet and greet, introductions a cup of tea or coffee and a welcome to Whartons Roses

10.30pm       The Rose Fields – all attendees will be guided (some transport will be available ask for details) around the acres of rose fields                                which should be in full bloom

12:00pm       Move onto the nearby Pennymore Centre for a two course lunch

14.00pm        Afternoon programme of speakers;

Talk One

The Whartons staff will explain exactly what it takes to produce quality rose plants for the UK rose market.

From mapping the fields, planting the briars, preparing  andbudding, plant care, lifting and bare root sales, potting and                                         distribution and trialing new varieties

Talk Two

Our second speaker is yet to confirm but you’ll be eager to attend once we announce!

The facilities at Whartons are truly second to none and we are very lucky to be given access and to be hosted by Whartons who are tremendous supporters of The Rose Society UK

       

Day 2 – On Sunday

10.30am              We have arranged for a guided tour by Simon White of the World Famous Peter Beales Rose Garden and Garden                                                      Centre in Attleborough, Norfolk.  Peter Beales Roses are serial Gold medal winners at Chelsea Flower Show and                                                      Simon will be on hand to explain how it all comes together and to show you some of the roses that are growing in                                                    the garden.

The rest of the day is yours.

• Shop for roses
• Enjoy a meal in the Rosarium Restaurant
• Just sit relax and chat amongst the roses

 

 

 

Members price of just £35 per person  –  includes both days and two course lunch on Saturday (menu choices available on booking)

 

 

OR £45 PER PERSON FOR non members   (remember it’s just £10 to join! Single and Double membership)
