NAME YOUR OWN ROSE

EXCITING NEWS

Have you ever wanted your own rose named for you or a loved one but thought that you couldn’t afford it?

Now you can!

Thanks to a very generous offer from Chris Warner, we have a new rose ready to be named.

It’s a rambler bred by Chris using Mary Sumner and Kiftsgate. It’s a healthy rose that will easily ramble and scramble to 20ft. Most importantly, it’s colour is ORANGE which is most unusual in a rose of this type.

You could be the lucky person to name this rose and also receive two bareroot plants in the mail, simply by winning our raffle!

There will also be five lucky runners up who will each receive a bareroot rose bush of the 2022 Rose Of The Year It’s A Wonderful Life, by mail, during the planting season.

The raffle is run in conjunction with RAFFALL; we have just 1000 tickets on offer at £2 each.

The draw will be made on 24th January

PELSALL SUCCESS

A fantastic return to Society business!
On Saturday 24 July we had our first Society Event since September 2019.
Some of our intrepid members brought roses to show at our Special Rose Show.
The day was made even more ‘special’ as six of our apprentice judges took a massive step towards full qualification as they passed their pracrical assessment.
Congratulations to them all and thanks to everyone for attending, helping and eating those delicious jam and cream scones!

It’s Coming Up Roses

On this weeks Peter Seabrook weekly podcast we have our very own Chris Warner explaining how he breeds roses and the steps that are needed to get a rose into commerce

Special Rose Show at Pelsall – 24th JULY

We are having a rose  show for Society and Facebook Group members and exhibitors only

This will enable our exhibitors to finally put some roses onto the show tables and our new judges will have the chance to judge and be assessed towards becoming accredited Rose Society UK judges.

All members are cordially invited to attend the event to observe, question and talk roses for a few hours

Exhibitors may stage roses from 7am until judging at 12 noon after which time there will be plenty of opportunity to talk to some of the UK's best exhibitors and growers and all things rosy.

We will be serving tea, coffee and soft drinks plus a cream scone or two during the afternoon until 4.30pm. This is a unique chance to meet up and learn from the experts about how to show and grow roses. The afternoon is completely informal; there are no admission fees BUT we must be aware of your intended visit.

Therefore it is ESSENTIAL to contact Shows Chair Pauline Martin to let us know that you are coming on pauline@therosesociety.org.uk

PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT WE WILL BE EXERCISING FULL COVID 19 GUIDANCE

SUBJECT TO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON THE DATE
