YES – It’s All About Rose Shows but PLEASE, don’t switch off!

For a light-hearted look at the mad world of competitive rose growing, drop in to see us tonight. Remember rose exhibitors are just VERY keen rose growers, you may learn something, you may be persuaded to have a try at exhibiting yourself!

Doors open at 7.00pm Tuesday 3rd March 2026 for a prompt start at 7.30pm

Please note all Rose Society UK members have FREE access to these seminars and will receive entry registrations by email

This year is the 150th Anniversary of the UK Rose Society – the world’s oldest plant society. Its roots lie in growing roses for exhibition. In this webinar we’ll meet Britain’s Dean Hole Champion  – star of Gardeners’ World – Neil Duncan.
Other rose showers will tell their stories too – entertaining tales of triumph, disaster, romance and friendship. You don’t have to want to compete to get something out of this event. We’ll be looking at the history of rose showing and of the Society, and pick up tips on buying the best roses and how to grow and maintain them. We’ll hear about Neil’s incredible dedication to rose growing. Ray Martin (Society Secretary) and Pauline Martin (Chair of Shows) for share stories and tips from many years of organising and competing in the UK’s National rose shows.

Yes, it’s a competition, but our main aim is to grow the best roses we can to share our roses with other rose lovers

You may find you get the bug – we’re always happy to help!
