PRUNING WORKSHOP at

The Walled Garden in Sunbury on Thames

and Squires Garden Centre Shepperton

pruning practice and general rose care

In collaboration with Spelthorne Council and Squires Garden Centres we are offering a chance to connect with some of the society’s experienced rosarians for a day of pruning demos and general rose care.

The day includes;

9.45am       Meet at The Orangery at Squires Shepperton, welcome drinks and introductions and a chat about care of your pruning equipment and a look at  pruning techniques then onto the Rose Garden to see the roses

12:00pm       Soup and a sandwich at The Orangery, Squires Garden Centre Shepperton

13:00pm       Back to the Walled Garden for hands-on pruning of the rose beds and climbing roses

15.30pm       Back to the Orangery for a hot drink and a biscuit, a chat about feeding and spraying regimes – what’s good and what’s not plus a recap

16.30pm       Pack up and go home!

At the Walled Garden, the Gallery Café, which is part of the Embroidery Gallery, will be open all day for the sale of impromptu teas and coffees and snacks.

We plan on having a very informal day with plenty of opportunity for YOU to try your hand at pruning and to ask as many questions as you want.

Please wear ‘sensible’ footwear and suitable clothing (including gardening gloves) in case of inclement weather.
